Confused About My 2 Step

I have an 05 8. So I used ECUflash to get the ROM and the Stat Rev Limit was set too 6100 and I could never get it to work. I set it back to 5500. Still doesn't work, the top clutch switch is connected and i get power from the green wire. What else am I doing wrong? The wire was previously cut before, I'm assuming it must have had a EMS in there and they cut it to use the 2step through their EMS. Sorry if this has been covered but I've searched around the forums and through google, no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

so with the clutch pedal in you cant get the 2step to work? from what i understand the wire from the clutch pedal should provide a ground signal to the ecu. try that first.

where are you located?

Yes with the clutch depressed it's not working at all. And I am located in Philadelphia. There's actually 2 wires on the switch. Green and Black. The green goes to the ECU. The black is just a ground.

have you checked the operation of the switch. i dont remember if it applies or takes away the ground signal when the pedal is depressed. since you stated one of the wires was cut hopefully the rest of the wire is intact and going to its destination.

Unplug the clutch switch and see if it works.

The car wouldn't start if the clutch switch didn't work.

You don't need the clutch switch to be connected to start the car. Mine has been disconnected since I've day 1. (old DSM myth, I know, I know)

You guys are misunderstanding my situation. Btw there is 2 clutch switches. The one on bottom is for starting the car. The other is for the 2 step/stat rev limit. The one I stated that was cut was the top one aka the 2 step. The wire that was cut is the green wire which is the power. I fixed it and it shows power. But yes the ground wire looks in good condition and not cut. I did order another switch. I can try to just connect it without it being mounted back in place.

So I installed the new top clutch switch. Still same problem. It just goes pass the 5500 rpm when i slowly rev up to it. The wires aren't the problem. I double checked my repair on the wires. Green gets power until you depress the pedal and it's grounded. The black is obviously still grounded. I checked the green wire going into the ECU, same thing.. it gets power and when I depress it it gets grounded.

Any help please. I am lost.

Does anybody have the diagram for the top clutch switch? And guys I'm not asking about starting the car without stepping on the clutch. The whole topic is related to the top clutch switch and the factory 2 step. Still need some help here please.
