Evo in the Snow

It snowed 2-3 inches here in Chicago last night. Lucky me, I got a set of AVS Winter tires installed two days ago. I went to an empty former K-mart lot to see what I could do. The tightest donut I could manage was two carlengths in diameter. I tried to zigzag to get the tail to swing out and it was difficult. I braked from 40mph and the tires bit hard. No problems stopping.

You'd have to be a jackass to lose control of your Evo in the snow. All you have to do is lift off the gas if you enter a corner too hot. The car damn near self-corrects! The only thing that could mess up an Evo in the winter is black ice.

Take your Evo out and try it yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised. Don't do it too long, though, or The Man might nab you.

Don't get too confident, you'll end up in the ditch with the SUVs. 8^ ) If there's ice, as you said, you'll be SOL. You never know where it’s at and this is coming from an AWD in the snow veteran ; )

Drive safely out there guys...
An envious S4 owner.
