To the Previous Owner...
And the serp tensioner was likely not the fault of the previous owner either. They... well, they do that. Mine is missing one side now after taking the factory belt off for the first time ever, didn't try to jam it down or anything, just applied nice even pressure with the 20" breaker bar and and it responded by throwing a chunk of metal at my face before it was even all the way out.
Join the club man. I bought a supposesly babied evo. Well the engine runs a looks great, but the body work it's just destroyed with rock chips and the lip was f-ed, also someone rub againts his bumper but I knew that, one of the reasons I got it cheaper. But the interior was, well on a scale of 1-10, I give it a 4. And So far I've replaced the tires, brakes, and right now left side wheel bearing. But now I have more of a peace of mind because of it.
Well, no surprise here but the rear brakes needed to be replaced. Don't hate but I went with the Autozone special. Duralast rotors and gold series pads. I was surprised at the quality. Very nice pads with stainless steel backing plates. Also, I needed new bleeder screws as it looked like someone went to town with some vice grips. They literally fell apart in my fingers. Bled the brakes enough to push out the old nasty black fluid and I was on my way.
For anybody needing to change their brakes affordably on their DD, i'd recommend the Duralast brand from Autozone. Very quiet well made parts...

Yeah when I go to get my car repoainted it will be done the way it should've been from the factory i na year or 2.
I bought my car not running. LOL. Talk about a leap of faith. After the Evo mechanic I bought it from couldn't figure it out I had it flatbedded to my house and a friend help figure that out and then a few things were missing (MAF, injector clips, etc). Nothing crazy. I learned alot in the first month of ownership of my car.
Def. worth the hassle. I honestly believe thereis no such thing as a stock Evo. Only Evos reverted to stock.
