2005 Evo 9 GSR Turbo Pressure

Hi I am preparing to buy a 2nd hand Evo 9 GSR, and owner told me the turbo boost pressure is 1.7 overboost for 1 sec or so then hold at 1.4 bar.
Is it a factory boost pressure or the owner has done something to the turbo/engine?

The owner has added a Defi gauge and controller to the car as well
Can a Defi controller increase the boost pressure?

That depends on what the 'controller' is for..... boost controller, yes. Certainly you have modified boost some way or the other.

em ... so I better ask the owner again to see if the boost pressure is adjustable or not.

Been told by the owner that his Evo9 has not installed any boost controller, the 1.7 bar overboost and 1.4 bar normal are factory settings...is it true?!

Well according to the seller the 1.7 bar will only be around 1 sec or so then back to 1.4 and hold there.
Thanks ________ so I guess 1.4 bar (20psi) is normal haha
