How do you explain it not sounding stock?

Yes. The car is running a stock intake box with stock filter. This was priority with the Stage 2 kit since I wanted the underhood appearance to be stock-like. No need to flaunt what's under the hood. Especially in CA where underhood inspections (all of which I've passed
) is as common as speeding tickets.
This is also why the equal length manifold is designed to work the factory heatshield. Once the heatshield is installed, the header is almost completely hidden. The turbo is also mounted lower than most kits, making it nearly impossible to see. I'll post up pics on Monday and show you what I mean. To the untrained eye (most police and emissions officers), it looks completely stock. No visible bling whatsoever

I did not get the answer to my question. The reason I want to know if you are switching to a different high flow filter is because I have one installed on my car. So if you get one and tune it to your specs thats great news for me. I want to get my car tuned with my xede and filter.
Thanks
Thanks

Tell me, if this was such a "monumental waste of a day" why is it that you're considering going back this weekend for another shot?
Also, C16, XEDE race gas map, upgraded turbo, big cams, and exhaust combined with a stock dirty air filter? Is this a practice in futility? Or maybe just tuning safely?

The car had a dirty airfilter because I hadn't thought to change it before the hitting the track. I hadn't even looked at it until after my first run. My bad. But honestly, hp isn't the issue at this point. No use upping the power when I'm spending so much time hitting against the rev limiter and spinning all four R-compound tires.

It runs our standard full exhaust which comes with a large straight-through muffler (not the obnoxious JDM-sytle, angled-out, no-muffling muffler) and a well-sized and placed resonator which gets rid of all that nasty drone which keeps from attracting too much attention when you don't want it.
Under full boost, however, it does get reasonably loud and mean which isn't a surprise considering the amount of airflow that is being pushing through it.

IMO, trying to make an Evo stealth is like trying to gently hit someone in the head with a brick. The Evo's an in-your-face kind of car and it's supposed to make noises. At least mine does.
I do have to say that the Magnaflow on my Buschur 3" TB does make it more driveable than the BR tin can. That thing is LOUD. To each his own, though.
Test drives available for you NY guys.

Well, that's what you get for having a ricey exhaust.

Insults arent needed here. And I guess you have a "ricey" exhaust too since Im running the same setup as you

PS. rACerS-- Sorry for insulting your exhaust. I wasn't intentional. I didn't even see what kind of exhaust you had at the time. And I certainly couldn't hear it over all those V8s

Let me know when this kit is ready to ship. I think I need to do a few more lapping days to get the new 1+ power down. Do you think running 235's with hooser slicks at the track the car will hook up, and not the 1/4 say Road Atlanta? I just want to be able to have smooth power that does not come in super hard. Also any info on stage 3? The reason I ask is because a friend has a NSX he put about 200k into that can hit 180mph on the back of Road Atlanta and want to see if the evo could ever do that. Also with all that power I think we need a lower gear maybe like a 4.1x or something.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Holy crap Shiv! Those are some sweet times! The mph is really impressive. I'm sure if you practiced, and got a good launch, you'd hit at least a 125 trap with a low 11 run, INSANE. My dad is getting an Evo soon, and wants some crazy power. So, this kit uses a different turbo? How are the driving characteristics with this turbo and the stage 2? I hope it's not too laggy. Also, when is the expected release date of this kit, I bet the anticipation is killing a lot of people lol
One last question, will there be different octance maps made, or just a map for race fuel? You are the man! Keep it up. Later
