My dad is getting an Evo soon, and wants some crazy power. So, this kit uses a different turbo? How are the driving characteristics with this turbo and the stage 2? I hope it's not too laggy. Also, when is the expected release date of this kit, I bet the anticipation is killing a lot of people lol One last question, will there be different octance maps made, or just a map for race fuel? You are the man! Keep it up. Later

The kit will be available soon. But only in "turn-key" form at first. This means that we will be installing the parts and tuning the car ourselves. At this power level, I feel far more comfortable with putting it on the dyno myself and handing over a finished product to the customer. Boost response is actually quite remarkable. I'm a stickler when it comes to turbo response and this turbo makes me happy. I haven't even considered trying a smaller, more responsive turbo. I don't think it's remotely necessary.

Yes, there will be at least two XEDE maps, one for race gas and one for pump gas, which you can toggle back and forth between with a switch mounted on your dashboard (or in your glove box if you want to be stealthy.) 400 or 550bhp, take your pick. Just make sure you have the right gas in it

Cheers,
shiv

Shiv, I've gotta say, I was quite a bit disheartened when I saw your car and 4k worth of mods (most of that cost eaten up with wheels), I couldn't rationalize your train of though. But...Im a believer, congrats, good luck and damn! Im impressed. Could you catch me up to what exactly you have done to the car, overall investment and the driveability/longevity of the motor?

Thanks for the info Shiv. The ability to switch maps between pump and race gas with the flick of a switch, is straight up Awesome! We'll be making a trip over to your shop once stage 2 is released .

With the C&D test, we only had the car for a few weeks so there really wasn't many options back then as far as modifications go. We were on our first version of the XEDE. No harness, no boost control, no knock adjust feature. We didn't even know the effects of cam gears back then. Nothing... nada. All we had time to do was bolt-up and XEDE and play around with fuel and spark timing which, without boost control, is of limited use on the 91oct fuel we were forced to run. Sometimes, it's hard to realize that magazine testing is down 3-4 months before the story is finally released to subscribers
