It seems a little high but you are getting some nice parts. worth it if you were going to do these mods anyway

well with 54k on it id say thats pretty good mileage for an 03, now ur best bet is to ask the seller if hes willing to go half on having the vehicle PMId(Preventative Maintenance Inspection) at a respectable auto shop. That way you know your gettin a car thats all pretty much mechanically sound. But for 20k, if you talked him down to 19k thats better, but looks like your gettin at least 3k worth of mods. Make sure since hes at 54k that your timing belt water pump job got done. Other then that if its clean and your a fan of a red car( im not ) buy it away and welcome to the club. Just make sure that the car says to you mentally " Your my driver, im your car" haha , if it says it buy it if it dont then keep shoppin haha

Mileage is very close to mine.

Got mine for 18K 3 1/2 years ago with 41.5K on it at the time. It was 1 owner and still stock.

Clean title with some minor stuff to repair.

Depending on what you wanted to do to the car it could be a good buy. You could also remove and seel parts you do not want and replace them.

I think pricing depends on reigon as well. I would see if he can drop it down a little more, unless the mods are what you planned then you are set. KBB lists a car like mine last time I checked for above 16K. A fair price then would in my opinion be 18 - 18.5 for it.

if the car is mechanically sound with those mods I say 19k is fair... people get wrapped up on year of EVOs...these are not ordinary cars and to an enthusiasts they are a worth a bit more at least IMO... you can have 05 06 year models that are beat to crap as opposed to a 2003/04 that are clean and well maintained. To me... if the car is clean, runs well and has been taken care AND especially from an original owner, that is a big plus.

For an 05/06 with those mods, people here are asking 24k plus for them(especially the 06s)... to me the year does not matter but to some people it does... for example, some people want ACD and the Mivec(06).

OP, if you are set on the color(this is important at least to me... WW and RR are my 2 colors of choice) then go drive the car, have someone look at it if you are not familiar with EVOs and at the very least have a compression test done for peace of mind... try to beat him back a bit since you will have to do the 60k service so maybe squeeze another $300 to $500...

Also keep in mind that it comes with a set of Volks so if you were to run the stockers and sell the Volks you can get AT LEAST $1500 plus for them so now you are at $17500 for the car from $19k... if you decide to sell the wheels.

Sounds like it s a clean EVO, post a pic if you can. Pics speak a 1000 words. Good luck.

edit add.... AND I JUST READ IT HAS 06 SE INTERIOR.... DUDE THAT IS $1200 TO $1500 ALONE if you were to purchase it here from someone... that is $3000k alone in wheels and interior so now your at $16k... sounds like a good deal to me.

sounds like a good deal, think about the mileage on that its low for an 03. you also are getting alot of good mods with it as well. i of course would give it a test drive first and see how it feels, i say you might be able to get it for 18ish . i believe the 03s also came with the stock intercooler sprayers which none of the newer years came with. Also rally reds tend to fade quickly if the paint isnt that good i would also tell him he needs to drop that price abit more.

Yeah 2003's came with IC sprayers. I removed mine though makes more room for the intake filter and will allow for some direction of cooler air to it as well.

I say 18 - 18.5 is fair for the year, miles and mods.

Oh wow, I didn't expect this to blow up like that, and yes i did test drive it, and got it inspected everything checks, he's also getting it smogged for me 0_0

I found this ad on craigslist, and his story goes along the lines of....i bought this car with a friend from a mitsubishi showroom here in CA and we both got evo's. They rode in his boy's evo majority of the time because he was a better driver at the time, and his boy apparently raced everything that had wheels....scooters....airplanes...18 wheelers...michelin man, whatever it was it was ***** to walls all out and eventually like most cars that get dogged it broke and broked pretty hard. He originally wanted to take it on the track and run times but during the course of his upgrade he knocked up his gf at the time who is now his wife...he got promoted to a project manager and time with work and his daughter left no room for his 1st baby...his wife's TSX just got totaled and although he has 3 cars....EVO,TSX,SENTRA he will get rid of his evo to someone who appreciates it and buy his wife a car and his daughter something nice and well deserved...

check her out....

depending if your getting a loan or not

for my situation, get a loan, by the car, sell the parts and make it stock again to pay off most of my loan, then pay off my loan later down the road hopefully less than 2 years. Then Mod the car. You dont want to be stuck with a payment and a broke car at the same time...

oh yeah its a 2003, I know a guy selling a car similiar to it with not all the mods with only 50k miles on it for 14k.

talk him down to 17 if possible he needs to know that you dont pay for the mods on the car, you pay for the car itself

It seems like everyone here on evom finds really good deals, and currently I'm in the market for an viii or ix and everything is either 20k or more or 17k with 100k on the odo?
