i believe this was thread made back years ago asking the same question. it cant be anything for climate control because we dont have a climate control feature on any of our UDSM evos. im not so sure as to mine have it in my 05 ev0 8 nonssl but i will check and i will chime back in afterwords...

 

^^^^ He is right, for those of you with a X yes it probably is climate control, your cars are so sophisticated that they shouldnt even fall into an 8 or 9 category, An Evo should be a 15k car with a 15k drivetrain and a X is a 25K car with a 5k drivetrain. No 8 or 9's had climate control I dont even recall seeing climate control in any of the JDM models so i just dont know why that would be there but thats the only conclusion, make the car worth more for no reason!

 

JDM 7,8 and 9 models have auto climate control. Its located where our cubby is above the shifter.Also why they have a double DIN capability..
