Hey guys, I've owned my Evo for about 3 years now and i just recently decided i was going to post this. On the Dash just left of the radio there is 3 slits in the plastic as if there was a chimer or a little speaker to notify you if your keys are in ignition or lights are on etc. I owned an 02 Lancer OZ and a 03 Lancer OZ before my evo and neither of those had this and so i am wondering if its is just an Evo or an Evo IX thing?
I've tried to put my hand over it when the seat belt chime goes off or the key chimer goes off and it doesn't get quieter or muffled so it couldn't be that? just trying to figure out whats behind there or why Mitsubishi did that. Does anyone know cause it makes me kinda curious? I don't think it is aftermarket cause it is to perfect and to replace that piece it goes all the way under the radio and over the glove box compartment.

that looks like for aftermarket Bluetooth

 

Believe it has something to do with the auto climate control offered in the JDM models.

 

It's not aftermarket.

If you search for the thread on bluetooth mounting pics you'll see some discussion about this area. Not sure why some cars have it, but it is factory. I'm pretty sure they say what it is for in the thread.

 

It is Mitsubishi's sensor for the Black box....hehehe

don't have slits but I have an amerture hole drilled there. My friends call it the glory hole haha
