S&W Race Cars 10pt Cage
S&W Race Cars 10pt Cage
So I'm looking to buy a cage from a member on here that has this 10pt cage which is a kit that needs to be welded together. S&W is a very well known cage/chassis builder. I've been searching google and here to find an evo with this cage but no luck. Does anyone have pics or experience with this cage?
Things I'm looking for are really about fitment and approximate cost for fabricator to install it. Does the kit fit relatively tight? does it kill the back seat use? Or quite simply is it worth it? I would have JM Fabrications weld it all together. They used to do custom cages in the past but they focused more on product development and production lately. I figure Jimmy won't mind doing this since he's already doing my new forward facing kit as well....lol

the main hoop is the only custom fit piece. all the rest of the stuff is just a pile of pipes that need to be cut, bent and fitted how you desire. i would guess 20 hours or so labor.
Even a 4 point cage would kill the use of back seat (unless you cut out the back rest to fit the tubes in). Why do u want to keep the back seat? It's unsafe for passenger when any type of cages is installed anyway. So just pull the seats and save some weight.
Thanks for the comments. I know the debate about safety but I still want the use of a rear seat. My buddy has a 6pt cage and his seat useful. As for the pile of pipes comment, do you know that or assuming? There's no point in buying a kit if all the bends aren't done for you.

Even if they fit....I would not recommend having people in your back seat with a cage...very dangerous
