problem, advice/help would be awesome

so i was driving the evo i purchased about a week ago around last night, and i decided to have a little fun. so i start driving a little harder then when i get into boost the car has sudden blips in the throttle and is popping out the exhaust, me and my buddy thought it was random fuel cuts? but his dad from listening as we drove from his house said it was a boost leak. anyone hear of this before? please help. i just dropped 18 grand on this thing and i dont want it to have any issues.

im assuming an important piece of information would be the mods.

Are you located in Erie, PA? I would suggest taking it to Buschur Racing and have them go over everything and retune it for you. If you don't want to do that, I would suggest, doing a boost leak test, compression test, change all fluids (engine & drivetrain), & throw in a fresh set of plugs...

yeah i'm near erie. we have done a compression test and it ran 160 on all four cylinders, we are going to run a boost least test most likely tonight or tomorrow. we checked the plugs last week during the compression test and they looked fine, all even gaps. new ones probably wouldn't hurt.

i wonder how much that tune and look over would run me...

Is your car all stock?
Boost leak would indeed cause the symptoms you mention but so could a variety of other things hence the other member asked about additional mods to the vehicle.

You have any way to post up a datalog?
It would be informative to trouble shooters on here.

thanks for the help guys. found the problem today. (i work at a dealership) so friday i had my shop do a compression test, and i was trying to stay with them the whole time but i couldnt cause i was working. turns out they were 160 in all cylinders. and when the tech was putting the plugs back in he forgot to tighten two of the spark plugs down the whole way. made for multiple misfires. we tightened everything down checked every hose jumped in and tested it out. and it ran perfectly!.
