Just got home with my new EVO!
My name is Noah. I just got home with my new(to me) GG Evo IX SE! Today was my first time ever driving an evo and so far it has lived up to what I expected from it! Ill post some quick pics of the car tomorrow after work. It has Megan TBE, MBC, Injen intake, Walbro 255, Injen upper and lower intercooler pipes, forge wastegate actuator, jestr tune, and a prosport boost gauge. I am planning on doing a few small things to it in the near future, but my main concern is getting it retuned. Anyone have a suggestion for a good tuner near MD? When I go wide open it flashes the SES light(which is a knock warning from the jestr tune) and the boost gauge reads 30(maxes out the gauge). Once I saw this I stopped boosting. I want to get a tune ASAP, but I was wondering if it would be a problem if I turned the boost down so that it stopped around 26 before the tune. Would this make the car run too rich that it is a problem or is it okay? Thanks in advance for the help. I am looking forward to contributing to this awesome community.
Lol I barely got on it! I got 28 mpg on the way home. Yea I realize that 30 psi is terrible and thats exactly why I want to turn it down. Im definitely going to turn it down when i get a tune, but i wasnt sure if I could do it without a tune. There will be no negatives if I do this? Sorry for the repitition, but I want to make it very clear as im kinda nervous about messing something up.
