Only method I know of is to use high grit sandpaper and lightly sand it off.

Try 1200 grit, it wears out quick. When you're done just compound and polish it and it'll be shiny again.

if i used phosphoric acid would i have to clean the surface? and how would i apply it ? just wipe it on a towel and then spot it on the car where the rust is? will this destroy my paint?

This stuff works really well. I have used it on the exhaust to shine it up and I have used it to remove rust from the engine bay. You can get it at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, and NAPA.

can be hard on paint, usually not, but it just depends. i would try it in invisible area beforehand. lots of commercial rust cleaners with phosphoric acid. i would also apply some primer on these spots.

sandblasting is another option.

You would think a car made in 05 like mine would be more rust resistant but i have some surface rust I want to remove as well i will try that polish. Idk how i feel about putting sand paper to my car 0_o

Stuff that body shops use, sorry I don't know the names on top of my head. But if you're using high grit like I suggested you're only going to be rubbing a bit of the clearcoat. Usually that can be buffed out, so don't sand with a lot of pressure.

But like someone else said you can always sand it and then wax the hell out of it.
