EGT Probe Install ???

I'm installing a EGT gauge and debating on where to install the probe.
I've seen people say to do it at #2 port, but I was thinking that how would you know what the other 3 cylinders are reading.
I was looking at doing it at a central point where all the tubes meet, but I have a cheap Megan mani.
So I was looking at the top of the exhaust housing on the stock turbo where it meets the mani.
I found a drilled hole there, and was wondering if anybody has used it for the egt probe.
Here's a couple of pics to show what I'm talking about.

Nix on the turbine housing location for the thermocouple install. You want the probe to be as close to the combustion chamber as possible. This is the reason for the manifold runner location as close to the exhaust port(s) on the cylinder head as possible.

Either the number 2, or number 1 short runner location on the stock manifold as these are the two hottest running cylinders on the Evo engine. You want to sample the exhaust path temp as close to the combustion chamber as possible.

The location in the manifold's collector area, or ditto the turbine inlet area of the turbine housing, where all the runners merge together is not ideal. Why? Because the EGT's in the manifold's collector and/or in the turbine housing's inlet area are higher than the EGT's of the individual runners and thus are not an accurate indicator of the combustion chamber temps in the hottest cylinders which is what you are looking for.

You have a tubular header which I am assuming is constructed from stainless steel. Am I correct? Then look into the Full Race 1/8" NPT 27 threads per inch stainless steel weld on bung. This bung will permit you to locate the probe on the number two manifold runner(or number one) as close to the cylinder head as possible.

+1 on the bung being in the #2 runner.
