I've got an EVO VII HKS Hi-Power on mine.. It comes right up to the edge of the bumper.. I get black on the bumper but it doesn't melt.. You can get the black off right away with rubbing compound... A few strokes and it's gone..

I get the same black on my bumper with the RMR. It also wipes right away. Never melted anything though.

I'm not sure who you talked to but we are not redesigning our system. We are out of stock and we are making more. The black stuff on the bumper means your car is running rich. Thats somewhat normal for a stock evo.

mine melted the bumper at the very back end. ITs not too big a deal, and you can't really see it, but it is strange b/c it was installed perfectly, with the hangers aligned correctly.

My Buschur JDM gets the black bumper treatment as well. I guess I should try and claybar it.

I took off one of the cat' converters and ran an aluminum test pipe with an American Racing 2.5"/4" exhaust and I get zero black or melting...and the tip is very close to my bumper.

i know the hks jdm version was melting the bumpers due to the slightly bigger usdm bumper.

I have the RMR exhaust along with the RMR downpipe and I am having the bumper burning problem to. It is also making a mark on the muffler from being rubbed and burned. How the hell can I get this fixed.
