Mechanical Rear Diff
Water spray for intercooler
bbs wheels
recaro seats

 

Could just be one with a 5 speed swapped in it.

 

2005 Evo 8 MR, 5 speed gearbox, without vortex.

 

But It's RS,GSR or other?

 

Shouldnt the MR have blacked out head lights? and are the seats plain black suede or suede and blue? and does it have a metal BOV or a plastic one?

 

It looks like a MR tho the graphite grey paint job and stock BBS rims.

 

honestly looks like a GSR with swapped MR parts. Call a local dealership with the VIN # and have them check it for you. Thats what I would do.

 

USDM MRs were different than JDM.

 

you can buy badges might not be a MR at all

 

Errrr well seeing as the 05 grey evos were all MR's i'm guessing that is a legit MR with a 5 speed swap.

 

Things to check:

Roof:
Take a magnet and see if it sticks to the roof of the car...MR's should have aluminum roof's and obviously a magnet will not stick
Also the Roof of an Mr has these raised air guides where as the gsr does not.

interior:

interior should have CF pieces to it and the floor mats should say mr

Under the car:
also under the car you should see small MR brake cooling guides

FWIW, those were optional on all Evos. I have them on my SE.

 

Doesn't look like an MR to me. No vortex generator, Headlights and tail lights are chrome instead of black. I can't get a good look at the roof, but use a magnet like someone else said. Or just have a dealership verify the VIN.
