gtr003121- Tell me about it, when he gave away my antenna I was mad, but I don't like to show it. I have a couple pictures of my car in his shop too. There was 1 box what has junk in it sitting on the roof of my car a few days ago, then I went in yesterday, there is now a SECOND BOX on my trunk.

They seem to treat my car like its a pull and pay and act as if it were a tool box to store items on top of.

Your gonna have to get pissed off and show it bro. Dont go in and make a scene, but get into an office with him and tell him calmly that you are extremely upset and that you have consulted an attorney and will retain the attorney's services if work on the car is not immediately commenced or the parts are not ordered immediately. And tell him flat out, do not put anything on the car. Its your property and you have the right to tell him that! You cant be timid or he will keep walking all over you.

I tried to drop by today, when he says he works all day and his collision shop is closed. Love the honest =(

Yes, I did tell him he has one more week and action will be taken upon. I had a hamster car for 30 days and the insurance company stopped paying, so I dont have a car at this time =(

This f*ckin guy is totally liable for that too. Your rental car coverage was provided and ran out before this guy even ordered the parts for your car?? Based on that fact alone you certainly have yourself a case, lets just hope he's not stupid enough to let it get to that point. What shop is this??

I don't know if I want to say the body shops name. I feel that this thread might catch someones eye and find its way to the owner of the shop some how. I don't want them to hurt my car even more than it is right now lol.

About the rental car, since they took it back, I was to pay for it out of my own pocket to get another one. The body shop owner said for me to pay for it and when it is all done, he will give me the money. I don't trust the guy at all, that's why I haven't gotten a car yet.

That makes sense actually, even from a legal standpoint. Better to keep it to yourself, otherwise he could claim you were bashing his business and costing him customers.

And do not come out of pocket on anything at all, unless its an emergency. This is his liability and the more time wasted and inconvenience caused, the more he is liable. Plus he has already proven himself to be a lowlife and not to be trusted.

Legal sense? What legal sense? What that this guy was slandering the business or spreading untrue facts about it? They can't do anything if it's all facts. You need to file this with the BBB. Grow up be man and file it with the BBB. This will get the ball rolling in two ways: First it means business that you want the car done right and up to snuff. Second it means that if it does not turn out the way it supposed too, since you already reported this to the BBB that you will go even further. Such as the state.

Bluffing that your gonna get a lawyer involved is stupid and as a car shop I'm sure they have seen it again and won't take the bait. You either really do get a lawyer and remove the car from the shop and cut your losses or you deal with the guy taking stuff off your car so he can get laid by some girl that owns an evo.

Now since your in Colorado, as am I and we both have evo's and we have both been in accidents I can tell you that it took me 4 months to get my parts and that was using Hanks. Reason being is that I was rear ended and the trunk portion had to be ordered from Japan as nobody stocked this part as Evo's are kind of rare. Their not like Explorer or a Taurus, F150..etc. So it may take a while.

But you screwed up in the first place by seeing green $$$ in your eyes rather than getting a working car back. There is a way to "work the system" so it works in your benefit but you got a little too greedy. I hope you can get the car to a reputable shop and have it fixed and then see about pocketing some money for mods.

What I was saying was that from a legal standpoint, keeping the shop name and info to himself HERE ON THE FORUM, is a good idea. If everyone here got involved and started bashing the body shop in question, that could in turn be used against the car owner. Its just best not to give the guy any ammunition to try and counter sue or claim his own damages. I shouldnt have even asked and am glad he didnt disclose the name or info of the shop on the forum. In terms of reporting it the BBB, I completely agree with you.

And the lawyer threat is just step one. Im not saying its gonna work without a doubt, but it might and theres certainly nothing to lose by trying that first so why the hell not? I have seen it work in other circumstances just as often as it fails. No reason not to try. If the guy still wants to play games, then thats fine, he has gotten fair warning and at that point, its time to actually consult or retain the services of an attorney.

Bottom line is that the car owner is being royally f*cked over here and has a strong case if all this is factual. I hope he gets lawyered up and destroys that shop. Just the antenna incident is enough to justify that imo, but I am very protective of my car lol. Peace

Don't mention the shops name on here at all until all of this is settled. You have a legal matter pending and anything you say can be used against your case. You have ALL of the hand right now... don't give any of it up for no reason.

Contact an attorney immediately. Going in and saying this is the final straw means nothing... going in with a document from an attorney that says this is the final straw means everything.

Contact any attorney you wish... they will refer you one way or another (they get a finders fee typically)... you can also contact YOUR insurance company to see if they have any attorneys they suggest in your area.

1. Don't slander the shop.
2. Contact an attorney immediately.
3. Contact your insurance company and make them aware. Ask them if you should contact the other party's insurance company.
4. Contact an attorney IMMEDIATELY.

This is act or possibly lose your car type of scenario... trust me. It can happen before you realize it, and then you'll be getting insurance checks instead of your car.

this ^

Also, file with the BBB, cause then they will contact him for his side of the story.. that means you aint BS'n.

And also, where is this Douches Courtesy Car? Demand he provide you with a car or rental car, out of his pocket. ( not from the 7,000 ) because if he tells you to cover the rental from now on, and he will pay it back after, we both know he will monkey around with the invoice like he probably already did to include that rental cost in there somewhere.

Reading this makes my blood ****ing boil, and if it was me, for every day it isnt ready, I would do some gross sabotaging to his business. Not even gonna bother going into detail. use your imagination.

And he ****ing stole parts off your car. Regardless what he did with it.. (gave it to some girl, sold it on ebay, converted it into a meth pipe, Hooped it up his ***....) It wasnt his property to do with. Even if it was damaged, the customer has the first right to decide if he wants to keep it, or let the shop dispose of it. But if it was a normal working antenna and removed it to impress some girl, I would go to his car and remove his antenna.... PROBLEM?

I am waiting for this thread to become epic!

I don't think I would have waited this long to do something about it. I think I would have gotten an attorney and filed a suit against them when he removed the antenna and gave it away. I would get him for everything I could.

Partial update, I went to his shop today and he wasn't there. His 2 workers were in the office texting on their phones and smoking cigarettes. They told me they didn't know where he went. I grabbed his card out of my back pocket and called his cell phone (hoping it would go off in the shop)... Went straight to voicemail. I told them ok, this is it. Show me your business license. they gave me the business license and I wrote all the information down. Before I left, I told them, "Tell Ben I dropped by."

Few hours later he gives me a call and tells me, "sorry, I was away doing a few errands." Of course the same ole bs he has been pulling. I asked if he ordered the parts and he said he will do it tonight. I told him ill keep in touch. Like the usual, I will be dropping by again tomorrow to see how he is doing.

Forgot to mention, When I went their today, The boxes and items on my car were actually gone and my bumper has actually been worked on. I know 90% of you would be way more livid than me, but I am never like that =). It actually feels kinda nice, not having to worry about driving my Evo and praying it doesn't break down today or how much gas it has gulped.

I will keep you updated tomorrow. I know you guys are dying to hear what happens next haha!
