wtf car turns on w/o clutch?

Okay. So today when I was driving home, I parked the car and let it idle for 3 minutes. Once it was done, I turned the key to off but not all the way then I quickly turned to accessory to roll up the windows then suddenly the car started. I was confused because I didn't depress the clutch or have an automatic start, no Turbo timer, so not quite sure how my car started w/o depressing the clutch.

look under your dash at your clutch pedal and plug in the connector. someone just unplugged it, thats all.

don't open the doors after turning off the car. you have about 30 seconds, and yes is works on Evo 8's as well.

When I first bought my car the same thing happened to me, I had thought someone unplugged the switch. I found the switch still plugged in, but the knob the pedal touches broken so it's like the pedal is always depressed.

if the car has not shut down completely and you turn the key back to the on position it will cause the car to fire right back up, it has happened to me before. Now I just make sure the car is off before I turn the key again

Im fairly sure just about every vehicle can roll the windows up without the key as long as the door hasn't been opened for a short period of time.

And evo8426 is right even after you turn the key off it takes a second for something spinning around 1000rpm to stop and if its still spinning and u turn the key back to on the coils will fire starting the car again.

Just because it's plugged in doesn't mean it's functioning.

Time to get out the DMM and test the switch!
