Evo VIII / IX's becoming more expensive?

Hey guys, so i've been planning to get an evo for many many years, and hopefully next year is the one. Anyway, i've been looking at prices and it seems like they are still the same, or even more expensive over the years... am I the only one seeing this?

Thx

Kinda.....There are deals out there but usually they are to good to be true or they need alot of work. Remember the biggest service with the evo is the 60k so always ask if that was done or not as it can run ya around a grand

The car is legendary, and the newer models are heavier and less "raw". This drives up the cost of the older models. It's the same thing as MIV Supra turbos, you can't get one in decent shape for cheap they are too desired/beat on.

When I was looking this summer I found ads from 2009 that had cars about the same price but a lot less miles. Selfishly I hope they hold their value

^ that's not selfish, I think all of us evo owners hope the same thing. Me personally will never ever consider selling mine, now that's being selfish.

this is something I've been wondering about for a while.... since I plan on keeping my car forever no matter what other vehicles I get once I have a family and need something for the kids and the wife. im thinking that eventually EVOs that are kept in good condition will go up in price just like the supra did.

You guys don't have to hope. Mitsubishi will kill the Evo in 2013, and prices will skyrocket.

Same thing happened with the Supra and FD RX-7.

The Evo is superior to both those cars in a lot of ways, and has a better reputation than both those cars in professional motorsports.

You can't deny the fact that Evo's have dominated Time Attack for almost a decade now. That is something that will go down in the history books. No other car has been able to topple Cyber, HKS, and Sierra Sierra Evo's.

The Supras and RX-7s didn't have that kind of pedigree, and they are still in the 20k price range.

Just wait...

I agree with the op and I know I definitely have to get one soon before they are like the supra and end up 20k for a evo with 120 thousand miles!

With the economy like this. No cars are going to appreciate. Did you know Dodge Vipers are being sold for 25k now?
