Car won't start possible tune?
Hello all! I've been gone for 7 months due to the Air Force and before that had an Evo 8 that blew a motor. Here is the mod list from before the blown engine.
-Stock Block/Head/Head gasket/rod bolts (engine has never been apart)
-Gates racing T-belt and Balance shaft belts (new timing tensioner)
-Kelford 272 cams
-GSC beehive valve springs
-ARP Head studs
-OEM ported exhaust manifold
-Forced Performance FP-red 84mm surge cover and 18psi wastegate (with high flow feed line and in-line filter)
-Megan stainless o2 housing
-Megan stainless downpipe (with 3" v-band outlet)
-Custom 3" Aluminum down-pipe back exhaust (v-band connections and HKS muffler)
-FIC high impendence 1,100cc injectors (with spoolin up resistor by-pass)
-Walbro 255 pump (stock lines/rail/fpr)
-AMS VSR intake manifold
-Stock throttle body
-Nisei Street FMIC (one of the best on the market)
-Custom 2.5" Aluminum charge piping, with Tial flange and IAT bung
-Tial BOV (silver)
-Custom 4" Aluminum Intake with K&N 7" Cone filter
-Custom aluminum small battery kit with Odyssey Pc680 battery
-Pro Sport gauges: Boost, Oil temp, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp
-AEM Uego wideband
-Stock ECU on Tephra v7 speed density
-Greddy counterweight shift knob
-Megan Racing Coilovers
-Exedy Twin Disc clutch
Now after blowing the motor I bought a new motor and left the motor to be swapped by some friends while I was gone. Long story short the car was not done so when I got home it was back on track. We finished everything and made some minor adjustments to the build and this is what has changed.
-CW 272 Cams
-Stock Head no springs
The issue we are having is that the car is cranking but it will sputter and try to live but will not come to life. We've checked timing at least 10 times now checked the sensors to make sure they are plugged in and checked for spark and fuel but still will not turn over. Someone told me Kelford 272s are more aggressive and that something with the Cam Angle on the tune might not allow the car to start on CW 272s. I'm a lil lost now and running out of time cuz I have to move bases again and could use some input thanks again.

Hmm how would one know if it's bad? It's not throwing any codes and a friend has a scan tool but he's busy so I don't have access to that.. Also the old motor snapped a rod... Somehow we think the tune may have messed it up because it went lean really bad real quick and then it blew right after. I was going to swap new block in and get it tuned but the damn thing won't even start and I leave tomorrow...
