ticking sound after 2.5k rpms

ticking sound after 2.5k rpms

like the title says i can hear a constant ticking sound inside the cab when ever the car revs passed 2.5k rpms (in gear or in neutral). i got under the hood and revved it and couldnt hear the ticking.

any ideas?

if your under the hood and couldnt hear ticking maybe its in your head lol.

best way to get help is post up a video. or a mechanic should be able to tell what the problem is just by hearing the car.

if it is a deeper knock(if that makes any sense) then its something with the block. If it is a light ticking then its the head. or maybe there is something on a belt. good luck!

can you provide more info.. does this happen while your turning right, left or only when going straight? does it happen on cold starts, after driving for long periods of time? does it happen when your AC is on or off? have you checked all the bolts, screws, plastics, hoses in your engine bay? hows your oil level? etc, etc.

I know what you mean, mine does the same. I think is some sort of solenoid/valve that is mounted to the firewall or beneath the dash? Not sure what it is but it is not my engine.
