Whats goin on everyone?

Ok heres the deal, im getting ready to deploy pretty soon(6/7 months) and i have my eyes on buying a used evo 8/9 when i get back. I understand that i may have to do alot of digging to find the car i want. I'm going to be willing to drive and fly pretty much anywhere in the us to get the car i want. But ive been doing alot of reaserch on the forums and asking around, and ive heard of alot of ppl driving to diff states to pick up these cars only to find out that they have been lied to and have alot more problems then they stated in the sale.

My question is what do i need to look for when im travling to buy a car like this? What are some questions i can ask to be better prepared for a trip like this so i dont spend 100s of $ to go and pick up a car that is 100s of miles away?

any and all help you can give would be great?

ask for the carfax! also when you buy and import just get it in your head that that car have been beat to ****. it was probably modified and returned to stock, if you dont know much about evo's i would take someone with you that does so that they could point out if there is parts mission that should be there, or if your getting the better end of the deal for the price they are tying to sell it.

Carfax, check for frame damage, most important is to check the trans, lots of synchro's get messed up and it is super expensive to replace.

 

btw i have a very clean evo 8 ssl with only 50k miles for sale. 18k
