MA Pothole 1, Evo Wheel 0 - Check this out
sorry about your luck and for laughing, but thats funny and terrible at the same time. i work in an industrial park and 100k lb semi's roll thru all day every day. 2 years ago i blasted a pothole big enough to completely hide a bowling ball in (seriously!) and wound up with a 5" gash in the side of the tire and a bent wheel. this year for winter wheels i have cheap 16" steelies and 60 series sidewalls for my wrx daily driver.
Generally, construction areas are pass at your own risk but I'm not sure if that's the same when it comes to highways and such. There's definitely a whole lot of road contrustion going on in MA. Hopefully I'm wrong though and the contruction company will reimburst you for repair costs. Glad to hear nothing else serious happened. Definitely could have been worse.

Op as stated go after the company, and/or highway dept. Even since you left they are still liable. This happened to someone I know and he did as you did and kept going thinking nothing was wrong and he still won his case. It took him a month or so and a lawsuit against the county, but in the end they had to pay for a whole set of new rims since his were discontinued and it onle jacked one up. He also got the whole front end of his car repainted because it hit so hard the strut croke and came through the hood.
Ive never heard of this pass at your own risk, nor have I ever seen a road sign stating pass at your own risk. It can't be a pass at your own risk, what if its the only road through someplace and you have to take that road cause its a dead end road they are working on? Then what? Construction companies can't just jack a road up and leave it in a hazardous condition for commuters..

Scroll down about halfway and it states that only personal injuries will be covered. Now I'm not saying there isn't an exception or something. It's probably something that has to be looked into a bit deeper but all local road construction around my house is always pass at your own risk stated on the signs before the road work.

Wow that pothole did some serious damage! At least you made it through safely and without any kind of injury, that had the potential to be bad. That said, your best bet will be to file an insurance claim. From what I understand, if the insurance company feels that they have a case against the construction company, they will go after them to recover whatever they can.
damn that had to feel awful i hate the roads we have around here. couple years ago i hit what looked to be a piece of someones driveshaft on 290 and duffed up one of my bbs pretty bad. I have one good one left and am local if your interested. (its a grey MR one though)
