^^^ lol, i thought so too. man if ya'll are cool just get an oem one and be done. i had my fair share of cf hoods and the clear coats act up in different weather. had to reclear and stuff which sucks. alot of waxing to keep it looking good. BUT it looks DOPE when its kept up. from what i've read it seems like they both weight about the same so the weight is minimal. so this point its up to you. hood pins are gay. get a voltex cf hood :-P
Get the best of both worlds: get a Ralliart Carbon hood, I saw a couple for sale here a few months ago, look for it, or try ebay. I believe it's the only carbon hood that will fit like the OEM one because well, it's OEM

i got a VIS carbon hood after my uncle backed into my hood. its turned a tiny bit yellow but still no cracks and survived a whole year out in FL sun. fitment 8.5-9/10 moved the fenders in a bit to line up the gaps. overall everyone has been impressed for being a 500$ carbon hood. I would still get a stock hood though.
Exactly what I was thinking, some ***** breaks my **** then some ***** is buying me a new one

Yep Aluminum hood retails for 1200 and the you gotta paint it, which I cant do so a shop will charge a sh** ton for it.
But despiste what everyone has said, unless a cheap red oem hood comes up in the next couple days, I'm going to go with Robi's carbon hood. It save 8 pounds or something over stock, and I do like the look of carbon fiber also supposedly it fits pretty much like OEM. Only dont love the look or thought of hood pins, but If I have to I'll go with the sparco's so I can put them in myself. unless the areocatch hoodpins are actually easy to put in, which they don't look like.
Also I'll apologize for not having a better story but if you saw this girl you would understand things would have been a lot worse had she actually climbed onto my hood; for whatever reason.
