heat wrap o2 housing?
Just had a megan manifold that i got years ago (i know its not the greatest choice), re-welded, braces added, coated from a friend for a bottle of rum
. I wrapped in DEI titanium and wondering if i should wrap the o2 housing as well, i've heard good and bad things about wrapping o2 housings-reduce engine heat, increase spool, but kill o2 sensor faster?
i still have have about 10ft left so im thinking of doing upper rad hose and down pipe anything else to wrap?

I've never heard of the o2 sensor failing because of heatwrapping but you never know. I have my mani wrapped too and will buy more soon to wrap the downpipe, o2 dump, and probably intake as well.
Who cares about the 02 housing! You just made the Megan header a BOMB! With the coating and the wrap, that batch is going to get so hot it will crack so bad you could prob stick your finger in the damn thing. I would take the wrap on the manifold brother!

I would just save your time and get rid of the megan manifold, its made of cheap thin metal, even its it was re welded, its still junk. Save your time and get a ported stock manifold.
I've read somewhere that heat wrapping a manifold can increase spool due to thermal dynamics or some crazy ****. Im not sure if its true but ill look for the article and post it if I find it.
I agree about the coating AND heat wrap on the megan. You might wanna get another manifold cuz like stated that's going to crack again so bad it may just fall off going down the road.

here is another option to keeping heat away from other components... http://www.turblown.net/store/index.php?productID=79

I wrapped my manifold and downpipe for heat control purposes. I don't know about how much spool one would acutalyl get from wrapping, but the theory in thermodynamics is that exhaust gases will move faster if its stays hotter. My guess is not enough to make a difference in spool. For me, its more of a concern to to keep heat away from my intake, and away form the oilpan in the area of the downpipe.
There are benefits to heat wrapping such as the exhaust fumes exiting quicker, but I wouldn't do it to your o2 housing. I considered it for my downpipe, but heard stories of them cracking under the extreme heat and I would rather not have to worry about oil dripping on it and potentially causing any harm.
