uneven tires can they be used?
hey guys
i just picked up a used set of snow tires.
Must have been off a front wheel drive car because i noticed when i got them home that 2 of them have a significant less tread then the other two.
I have an 03 Evo so i know i have the open front diff.
my questions is that because the car is allwheel drive should i not use the tires because of the different tread depth?
To me it doesnt seem like it would hurt because when turning your front tires always cover more ground then the rears as they are covering more distance.
Let me know
thanks

always replace tires in sets of 4 if possible. you really don't want the tires to be more than %3 difference in rolling diameter between all 4 tires or you have to start worrying about the center diff.
In your '03 evo the center diff is a viscous coupling which can be easily overheated with staggered tires.
