Question Screwing around got me in trouble

Ok I was going down the road at like 50 and thought it would be funny to
pull the E-Brake..... I know. Stupid!

Well you know what happens next i got flat spots
in my tire treads, my car vibrates alot at high speeds.

I rotated the tires to the front and I am trying to
peel out to clear flat spots is this a good thing to try?

Let me know if i am just pissing in the wind and need
to get new tires for the car. Because the still have ALOT
of tread "BF GOODRINCH gForce 2" tires.

Yea the black marks were extremely dark and long. And the car want to slid sideways, alot of counter steering was necessary.

hmm i did this to my car recently. except that i spun the tires in gravel, do u think its the same effect minus the ebrake? i was only going 10-20 mph tho and my tires screeched once i got contact with the pavement. hmm

Um, dumb thought: You have a FWD car. You flat-spotted the rear tires, and then moved them to the drive wheels. Bad idea. As for burning out to "fix" them, not going to happen. When you burn out, you're burning the rubber equally. You're not "burning off everything but the flat spot."

Best advice - look into tire shaving to try and even them out? Get a tire place to shave the tread down so it's all an equal height.

And don't **** around anymore.

not trying to jack your curb but i thought about it. drifted stock tires. braidings showed. drifted "drift tires", then i rotated them cuz the tread in the rear looked fine. drove for two weeks until i figured i did the same mistake as before, thus the wobbling of the steering wheel. to be honest with u, its not worth it to drift a fwd car. i know i sound stupid cuz i didnt listen to what ppl said, and ill admit it. i am. just remember next time that drifting ur lancer, well just those two words dont go together, and wont.

FOLLOW-UP>> I called around to many tire shops in the area, they all told me the same thing, the flat-spots WILL wear faster in the front IF the tread is thick enough, It will take about 2k - 3k miles to be comfortable again, and so yea i do know something i was right it will wear down matter of fact it has already starting to feel better.

I couldn't help but browse this thread... make me remember about 16 years ago (now 32). E-braking IN A SAFE AREA is a good way to learn drift recovery. On the other hand, I would just save the money, buy two new tires, and two stock rims. Then the car is better for daily driving, and you have a set of wheels/tires for going e-braking! C'mon, admit it...you loved sliding it! :-) BTW, if you keep trying to smoke the tires to even them out....compare the cost of a clutch, to two new BFG'S!?!?!?!

haha. I e-braked a turn but I was turning and just yanked it just long anouph to get the car a lil sideways.. so it was basically yank up and let down. no flat spot that is noticable. was fun. first time id ever done it. probably wont do it again. lol

edit: it was on a country road. wide turn with no people or other cars around. and I wasnt speeding to do it.. safety first.

I do this sometimes in the winter, except the roads are already slick as hell and I'm going maybe 20 km/h. FWD cars don't drift, they slide, there's a difference.
