I just drove my Evo for the first time in 10 weeks after breaking my left foot in 3 places.

Yesterday was my first time back behind a clutch. Besides the loss of muscle memory, my foot is rather weak now and I'm not shifting as much because of that. Even out of the powerband I find the car is fast again. I just had to drive my 200hp v6 Escape for 10 weeks to get the Evo out of my head.

Dont drive your fun car daily and you will be less app to make it faster to get the feeling it used to give you. I learned this a while ago.

lol at post #10 so true , all great points I think another thing about the evo is its just so darn easy to actually drive fast with all the grip and corning ability as well as braking . It doesn't get as " sketchy " as my old VR6 or RX7 would get fish tailing or torque steering all over the place. And for mine its really not that loud weird how a loud car can make it feel faster like its some big event happening lol. But ya i love the car I can't ever park it with out looking back at it once or twice. It has smoked many cars too many to list of course there is always someone faster but 99% of the time its like pin it and all of a sudden the kid trying to race u just disappears in your peripheral vision as u just pull away : )

My tuner always says it takes like 30 days and I'll want to come back and see him. He's right! To the OP I put s1 cams in on the stock turbo and picked up 65whp on the top end. It was a nice surprise when I got it out on the freeway. With a black and s2's yikes!

Everyone gets used to the speed eventually and it feels slow. You hear the 750+ whp guys talking about how they need more power all the time. The best way to avoid this is to drive a slow cheap beater. It resets your butt dyno pretty well.

Agreed.

If all one is looking for is the rush of acceleration, pinning the throttle for a brief moment in time, almost any given amount of power can get old. There's just so much more to a car that those few seconds pointing straight ahead. For the life of me, I cannot understand how driving a powerful AWD rally machine can get boring. Dynamically, it's an non-stop adrenalin pump.

I'm having this problem and bad, but the one thing I don't understand is why cars don't disappear in my rearview mirror as quick as they used too when I go wot?? I swear my Evo was faster when I first got it and it only made 230 whp on a DD dyno at 18 psi, now it make 300whp/310 wtq on the same dyno at 22 psi with a few more bolt- ons and I feel like my car is hella slow. Yes it was great when I first got it tuned but now?? I guess like everyone else says you just get used to it! I know I am to the point where I think somethings wrong but I guess its just time for cams and an 02 housing for me.

Stop driving your fun car all the time to keep it fresh. When ever my car feels slow. I stop driving it for like 2 weeks and BAM.......feels like a different car again.

I just bought my evo like 2 weeks ago, and it already feels slow lol. It's just a stock turbo with ur basic bolt ons (exhaust, intake, fuel pump, ebc, wideband). I race pavement sprint cars and ride a gsxr 1000 decently modded. So pretty used to high hp to weight ratios. I mean I still love driving the evo, just needs more hp lol.
