Upgrade Intercooler or wait?

If I put on a FP Black turbo, would I need to upgrade the intercooler or would the stock one be good for about a year?

Ummm.... Deff upgrade!!!

Make sure you know what your doing and have enough money to buy the rest of the supporting mods. If anything buy all the supporting mods first and then get the turbo... just my 2 cents...

Well, if you upgrade the turbo, you'll wanna run higher boost, right? Having an upgraded cooler allows you to run higher boost. Otherwise, you'll be running less when it gets tuned. Since you have to tune it anyways, you might as well spend the extra $500 on the intercooler and do it right the first time instead of tuning it twice, y'know?

When are you getting your stroker?

Please list your CURRENT mods you have on the car.

I have just a TBE and wanted to get the most aggressive tune without knocks so I got an intercooler. Must say it makes the boost far more reliable without worry of knocking. So in your case I would say definitely!

Boosting low will be safer. Another thing to consider if you don't trust your fuel octane and have hot Sumners the intercooler upgrade is a sound investment.

If those are your CURRENT supporting mods, not bad. It will hold up with a stock intercooler but I'm sure that its restricting the hell out of you. Also if you have stock pipping. It would totally be up to you if you want to wait 2-3 more months when your new motor is build.

Check out the Buschur race core, thats the one I have in my car... Looks sexy ;-)

I would at the minimum Upgrade the LICP. the Upper piping should be upgraded but its not needed. As far as the intercooler, I run the Buschur Deluxe Fmic, really makes the car look better and temps are cooler. Anytime you have a bigger turbo than stock I would upgrade the FMIC.

Even with stock Turbo there are Gains to be had if you push it enough with Aftermarket FMIC
