I added about 50 whp (274 hp and 274 ftlbs). Dynoed after the mods and the increase was about 50 over what stock EVO's usually run on the dyno. Mods - Cold air intake, Power FC, HKS Hi Power Cat back.

Impressive.

Couple of questions:
1-What Octane gas are you using?
2-What was your baseline dyno numbers (HP/TQ)?
3-What type of dyno was used?
4-What mods have you done beyond the standard Vishnu Stage 1 mods?

Thanks

Power added to my Evo 8

I am having the following installed right now at XS Engineering: HKS RS Intake, HKS 264/272 camshafts with HKS Cam Gears and titanium springs and retainers, HKS downpipe, HKS Carbon Ti, HKS Circle Earth, HKS EVC, Apexi Power FC D-Jetro, HKS TT, Upgraded fuel system, cat delete pipe, Intercooler upgrade, Oddysey lightweight battery. This should result in 330hp @ the wheels. I will post when the car is dynoed and well see.

I REALLY hope it does. That number was suggested by XS but I told them I want the car to make as much as it can without stressing it too much. I will know in a couple days and as soon as I do, I will, post an update. I have already really harassed some heavy hitting cars such as Ferrari 575M and a 911 GT2. While my Evo wont take these cars on a drag strip for long when everyone is paying attention, these guys have learned that on the street, they better not be sleeping if it's an Evo up against them. The Evo always surprises people like this who underestimate it.

On 91 octane, my Evo dynoed at 253 horsepower on Vishnu's DD dyno. On 97/98 octane it registered 276 horsepower. Shiv claims stock evos pull around 195 horsepower on HIS dyno. You do the math. Turbo back exhaust, cam gears, xede. My A/F Boost and HP/Torque charts are posted on the sticky thread for dyno results.

On 91 octane, boost at 19-20 I'd say 330 is accurate. If you had 93 octane and could boost to 21-22 I'd say 350, lots more for race gas.

His sig:
- Buschur 3" turbo back w/ test-pipe - Buschur FMIC - Buschur UICP
- Buschur MAF Pipe - Buschur air filter - HKS BOV - S-AFC
- Profec B Spec - Blitz TT - Boost, AF, EGT gauges - Mini battery
- Grounding kit
So, bascially just exhaust? Not much extra then.

Turbo Magazine's Project EVO

Just got the word from the writer. Their EVO dyno'd 229whp when stock. 260whp with just our 3" non signature exhaust (with cat and resonator). This is on the AWD DTS Dyno at XS Engineering.

Regards,
Shiv

I am about to do the exact setup. How has the car been in daily driving? Is the fuel pump loud? What do you think the car will do in the qtr? There are so many options out there, but I think I have narrowed it to exactly like you have setup.

Daily driven: Absolutley (It has a bike/ski rack on it/ 2 kid seats/ snow tires), my only car

Fuel pump: What fuel pump?...can't hear it, exhaust is quite too with a nice tone

Quarter Mile: ~12.5 @ ~110 (just a guess using a HP calculator)

I absolutely recommend my setup, You will not be disappointed, drivability, hp, torque, gas mileage, sound and powerband

Can't wait to add the Vishnu suspension stuff

Thanks alot, I should have this by the end of Feb. I also have two car seats. I am going to get the recaro booster seats to match the recaro seats up front.
How many miles have you put on this setup?
What did you pay for install on all of this , I will be doing all at once. Trying to decide what coilovers to do also. Any thoughts, daily driver that will go to Sebring about 4 times a year.
