Why is it that I see guys with evo9 turbo's (fully supported) with stock head/block dyno sheet, they make the most power at like 7800rpm?

Well it will depend on mods, but my power is at about 6700 peak. But if I'm about to roll through the gates and I'm at 7k, I'm not going to grab another gear... I'm just going to stick with whatever gear I'm in. So having the extra bit makes sense.

On stock turbo, 8k is useless.

Big turbos can benfit from it, just look at your dyno chart and see if your dropping off in power in the higher rpms. Where the power drops is where your gonna wanna shift anyway

I find that very hard to believe unless they are on real low boost or something. Stock turbos are not making power that high up in the rpms, they simply cant flow that much air.

The higher rpm limit is to help you pass the traps in a lower gear. If you raise the rpm limit it is easier to pass the 1/4 or 1/8th mile trap in gear instead of upshifting at the last moment adding to your time.

Get your car on a dyno and find out at what RPM you no longer are building power past - that's your max. effective RPM.

7000 - 7600 works out perfectly fine, if you go anything higher you can really feel your power-band just suck.
