Need answers..

Ok. So here is my issue. I have a 05 evo 8 with 100k miles on it. Mods are AEM intake,Meagan turbo manifold,HKS SSQBV recirculated,3in apexi DP and 3in no name TBE,Walbro 255. I recently bought an Apexi AVC-R. Not installed yet. The car has never been tuned. If i were to install the boost controller and get it tuned will i be ok. Im just scared to get it tuned because of the mileage of the car. Im still running the stock turbo. Will i have any issues along the way. This is my DD. Please give me some thoughts.

i'd definitely get a tune if ur upping the boost. its sort of a weird question because u bought a boost controller to up the boost on a 100k car but scared to get a 100k car tuned? tuning is safer than a boost controller.
the evo's are a stout car, another member has 250k on his and still running strong. it also depends on if you kept up with maintenance and service. look to getting a conservative tune and not one that will blow ur pants off. check for any signs of problems, get new plugs installed before a tune, make sure no oil leaks and weird noises etc from the engine drivetrain. it should be good bud. happy modding

1. Find a reputable tuner that cares about YOUR goals.
2. Have them tune it KNOWING that you're trying to play it safe.

In general, a tune is a GREAT idea for ANY Evo, with or without mods. It helps the cars maps get dialed in so you aren't just running rich.

The mileage shouldn't matter if you're with a competent tuner.

But FIND some and talk with them.

^ I have one for sale.

Definitely get tuned, it will not hurt the car as long as its running properly. In fact, a conservative tune is nothing but insurance and peace of mind knowing its done well.

With that said, English Racing is in WA. I have heard amazing things about Aaron's tuning abilities. ETS gets their cars tuned by him, I'd start by calling Aaron. Good luck man! Dyno tunes are always fun, so give it a try!
