Quality HID Thread (for non-HID Evos)
^
only the non hid evos are 9006. the hid evos are d2s i believe.
i've been using the DIGITAL 35w 5000k hid kit for 2 years now. i haven't had any issues so far, and it's way brighter compared to my cheap 6000k hid kit i had previously.

thanks for the recommendations OP.
got an '05 GSR that was advertised as having HIDs but does not. kinda disappointed and driving at night absolutely sucks (when trying to drive an evo like an evo wants to be driven).
hopefully will be upgrading to a good HID kit very soon.
EDIT>>> Has anyone with a non-HID evo wired an '05 with switches for either the Fog lights and/or headlight level adjustment?
the Base '05 doesn't have those switches, so I'd be looking to find some and wire them in if possible.

I have also purchased and installed the 4300 Xtreme HID kit with Phillips Bulbs and I'm very happy so far.
I did the straightforward install of wiring the two negatives to the ground position on each side and the positives to the battery terminal at the top.
QUESTION: Did anyone notice a slight high pitch whine to the ballasts when turned on (car off, when on you can't hear this over the engine)?
Haven't had any problems, so it may be nothing to worry about.

yep - i'm the OP, purchased the exact same kit and bulbs, and I've tried turning the lights on while the car is off - very high pitched whine, i thought it was going to explode. the drivers side hid doesnt turn on sometimes btu thats usually when i try to turn the light on immediately after turning the car on
both of my lights turn on no problem every time (so far)
update on this - for my ix mr with factory headlights, does anyone notice they are definitely slightly blue? I think i'd like to swap the bulbs with a philips 4300k that i used to have
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE... Their service is garbage http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Xtreme-Dig...-Kits-s/21.htm
I bought mine from vvme.com two years ago. Price is great, delivery is fast from china via DHL, and customer service is awesome. Just the language barrier slows things down a bit. Oh, yes, they are very bright, full strength lights in about 10 seconds. I think mine are 5000k.
