The new walbro400 will outflow both. Just have to mod the fuel pump housing a little. I would go with that.

Better is a relative term. What are you trying to do?

I went with the DW301 personally. I just needed something to flow a bit more than stock and I wanted it to be silent.

Is there a thread for what has to be done for the walbro 400? Also what is it rated for power wise?

We have made over 580 whp on our mustang dyno with the new Walbro. With the other pumps we have only been able to reach a little over 500.

Thanks guys. I just went with the Aeromotive 340. I know the big hype with the 400 but it's still too new to me so i will pass. My goal is only 500WHP on E85 so i think the Aeromotive 340 will do me well. Thanks for all the great input

If you are using e-85 I strongly recommend not using any of those pumps. Do yourself a favor and go with the walbro.

Emery,

Besides modifying the housing, what else is required to run the new walbro? I understand a rewire allows to get the right voltage and handle more hp when you go over 500 etc, but what if one just runs pump for 93? Will the walbro work as a drop in without any rewiring or changing the fpr safely? Thanks man

Yes the walbro will make about 500 whp on our dyno without the rewire kit on e-85.

Its not that the other pumps cant make power, Its just that they wont do it for long. They have been failing. There is a reason why the walbro is the shape that it is.

well there is no need then really for other pumps. just pop in the walbro and you're good to go. When you require more fuel rewire it. IF thats maxed, double pumper. game over

Thanks emery, i'd like to come to stm but man you guys are far!! I'll try to make it up there sometime

are you referring to e85 or on pump?

im not planning on ever making more than 400whp on VD, so i dlike to stay away from the 255's due to noise and the 400 due to need for a aftermarket FPR.
