That's what I'm so scared of getting it engine goes in a week and I'm done. I'm scared of buying used turbo cars lol. But thanks for looking at it I'll call them tomorow to find anything else bout it

Learn patience, live patient, eat patient, the key to finding the right one is patience. I found mine in about 6 months but I work with a guy who was on the hunt for a year and a half!

x2... I'm the 3rd owner and I bought the car 100% stock@11k miles... if someone bought the car from me being the 4th owner, they would surely have an extremely clean evo 9 WW MR w/ 55k mikes on it.............................. but they would never know that cause they stopped looking after they saw I was the 3rd ower

A friend had a similar experience. There was a ~500whp Evo tuned on meth at a dealer. The dealer put 87 in it, ran no meth, and didn't change the tune at all. My friend took it for a test drive and it damn near blew up on him. He said it was pinging terribly. I saw the bc in those pictures as well. However, if it was tuned to a certain boost level and you turn it back down, the car could be running pig rich too. Don't buy a modded Evo from a dealer unless they know EVERYTHING about the car.

Have money set aside for a possible clutch/transmission/x-fercase rebuild.

I would pass on that evo, no strut bar, manual boost controller, no spark plug cover. You can tell it's been messed with.

There's greet cars out there, don't rush.

Good luck

first off i'll be straight up its going to be damn near impossible to find a stock evolution 8 or 9.
you might find one who's owner put the car back to stock but not all originally stock, your price range for a good well kept evo will run you anywhere from $18k to possibly the mid $20s

good luck in your search.

dont rush at all, if you find one make sure its clean. if you can ask the owner to bring it to a shop with you and throw it up on a lift and get a good look under too not all about if the engine is modded, if its done right its just a head start. mine was all stock pretty much but the last owner look like he went off road and banged up the frame rail under passenger side, no big deal. but i prob would have waited to get a better one.

Thanks for all info I wouldn't mind getting one with some mods I do like stock but hey if the mods is done right and price is right of course I will buy it. I'm checking daily on autotrader and cars.com. I will travel just about anywhere as well.
