Evo 9 6 speed

Hey guys been looking for an evo for a while not an with my mind set on a evo 9 EB havent really found anything. I know this car is extremely rare but the other day i came across one from a dealer in mass 06 evo 9 EB i fell in love. Started to look through pics and seen it has a 6 speed shift knob. This made me think maybe its an mr but didnt think they make blue mrs and it has no bbs no mr badges no gauges so made me think maybe its a 5 speed with a dummy knob idk lmk what you guys think ?? Thanks slimjim809

Post the pics or a link to the pics. It sounds like it's not an MR.

I don't know about that one. The dealer I bought my car from thought the front bumper was aftermarket and the holes in it were for Fog Lights.

The MR is the only EVO with a 6-speed Transmission, that goes for VIII and IX.

Yep, looks like a 5 speed with an MR shift knob. Interior and exterior looks extremely clean too! I'd be wary about that car though, make sure you test drive it and, if possible, take it to a reputable mechanic to give it a good looking over. Always CYA when buying a modified car, especially from a dealer, they won't hesitate to screw you 2 months from Sunday if it means they can make a buck.

Why does buying a car from a dealership in this country have to be like buying a car from a teenage girl?

How the hell do you not KNOW how many speeds the car that you're selling has?

not saying it does, but a prior owner could have swapped a 6 speed into a 5 speed evo. Heck, I have everything except the shifter cables to do such a thing.

Why someone would knowingly swap a 6-spd Evo trans in place of a 5-spd is beyond me though. It's probably just the wrong shift knob.

Easy. Most car sales people that I've dealt with in the past 3 months typically don't know **** about most of the used cars on their lot, save used cars of their brand. At least the guys I bought my car from admitted they didn't know jack about the car, but going in somewhere armed with the right info and experience about the car will snuff out the bull**** pretty quick.

No one has mentioned it yet but the MR 6 speed shifters have that little "lift" to go into reverse. That shift knob is just the MR knob but no edge under the knob to lift up and put into reverse, which is another reason to vote it a non-MR.
