alignment gets out of whack after a month?

For starters, I've gotten 4 alignments and the car still pulls to the right, not to mention the steering wheel isn't straight either. I got into an accident a while back and I'm wondering if it's the rack that needs to be replaced if so, how much would that set me back? I'm not even sure if my struts are the ones to blame but I really need some help here as I'm not the most mechanically inclined person on this planet. the car pretty much drives like utter crap! what could be throwing my alignments off after only a month? I don't get it.

first thing u did wrong was not go back to get the steering and pulling figured out after the alignment. Most alignment places redo their work if its not right the first time. even firestone has a 12 month warranty on their alignment.
as for in a wreck, thats hard to even remotely provide u with help. No one can help over the internet without actually seeing and inspecting. if you cannot check yourself take it to a mechanic and have them check it out.
the steering racks i've seen go for 350+ or even higher than the + sign. install labor is a pita.
or this could be a simple "loose" bolts.
or your right side tire is low on air relative to the left side which induces more grip and pulls that way.
THE absolute best thing u can do since u cant do it yourself is take it to a reputable shop that specializes in evo's and have them check it out.

thanks for the feedback I guess but I was hoping for someone to tell me the tell-tale sign of struts goin' bad or maybe how to tell if my rack has taken a dump on me. I need a little more info before I go out on a limb and start buying parts and yes one of the mechanics did say it could be a tire pull but it was ruled out when they swapped the two front tires. I then got told it may be the rack on the car since it had slight play from side to side when moving the steering wheel. I know most of you guys work your cars that's why I'm here asking for help. thanks

A belt could have shifted on one of your tires... I would swap your rubber around (ie pass side to driverside) and see if it pulls the other way. Seen that happen before. Good Luck.

he said they did that

if your steering wheel has play it's either the bushings going bad (or bad already) or the rack going back

What does the alignment sheet look like? Is it all in the green factory zone.

I had a car that pulls to the right before and that is due to the frame being bent in an accident.

If you have loose suspension parts the alignment isn't going to go out in a month, it will be out when you hit the first bump. If tight suspension then....story time.

Some years ago I was in the same boat - always going to the alignment shop and always having tire wear showing bad alignment. One day I took the afternoon off from work for an alignment appointment. Got there and the place was closed for a funeral. I figured I could find another place that could fit me in but no dice.

By late afternoon I was feeling angry because I had wasted half a day for nothing. So, I hit a parts house and bought shims and the tie rod tool this car required. I did my own alignment on the garage floor and never again had tire wear problems plus solving all the other pulls and things that go along with a bad alignment. I drove this car maybe another 60,000 miles without ever having to touch the alignment.

So, either you have suspension problems or you are getting poor service at the alignment shop.

Check your bushings for wear, Its possible whoever is doing your alignment isnt doing it correctly. Tires can be worn and cause tire pull. Also check your tire pressures.

Okay I feel like everyone is missing what he said. His alignment is good for a month then gets out of wack. Bent frames don't throw the alignment out. This is like a never ending thing. If it stays good for a given time then gets out of wack, sounds like they aren't tightening things up right. I would take it back to the same shop and actually check the alignment and see if it really did change significantly over that month. I have shops in town that do LIFETIME ALIGNMENT for $120. Go get it checked and let us know if the specs actually changed. That'll help us judge your problem.

Btw hard driving will eff your alignment fast. I know auto x guys who do their alignment a few times a season.

post your before and after sheets I'll bet the shop that's doing the alignment isn't torquing the bolts to spec and they are slipping. as far as the pulling try to rotate your tires from left to right they may be directional so you'll have to return them to the way they are now after you see if the pull is caused by a bad tire.

The rear adjuster bolts are known to strip on our cars.
