My clutch job, all done.

As some of you know, I recently did a clutch job in my 06 ix. It took 2 full days with a friend of mine helping me, we were going fine until we hit a problem.. The tob would NOT release, we tried and tried and tried. Hour after hour, finally the next day, (we weren't halfway yet).. We were thinking how we could get it out.. yank on tranny?? use saw blade? break tranny? haha or.. use service hole 1 1/2" - 2 " in diameter and use a dremel with a metal cutting disc to cut the fingers on the pressure plate, attached are pictures of the job.
Also, if you notice anything abnormal.. please tell me. haha recently bought the car.
and my tob is now rattling like all the other act hdss tobs.. :/

Wow. Can't believe you did an Evo clutch job in the driveway. That's hardcore. I've done clutch jobs on much simpler cars on a gravel driveway but the Evo is just too complex. I guess you planned it around the weather forecast.

you could of gotten away with ubolting the 6 pressue plate bolt from the flywheel. Releasing the tranny, then cutting 1 spline off the pressure plate to access the screw that holds the fork pivot, and slide out the whole assembly with the tranny on the floor. Thats how i do them now. Saves so much more time.

Obviously you didn't look in the service manual.

Wide screwdriver between to bearing and spring land on pressure plate.
Compress fork towards engine, turn screwdriver 90*.

But at least you got it done, Congrats

What's the best service manual you would recommend for this car?

no, that did not work, i could not get a socket/wrench in there

the weather was beautiful.
as for the tob releasing, it wasnt going to happen, moving that fork and putting a screw driver in there,, didnt work. it sucked. it really did. especially for a first clutch job. (on my own car)

i read a few reviews on this clutch set, and people said that their tob started rattling right after install.. which mine does.. or as far as i can tell its the tob.. its like a metal on metal sound.. but at constant driving it rattles as well. any ideas what it could be?

Well I admire that you did it yourself

As for the TO bearing, yeah, heard the same thing and people go with the OEM mitsu one because of that.
