Fuel question...

Just had a quick question about something I remembered, I wrecked my evo a few weeks ago and it's now in the shop getting fixed.. My question is after the wreck when I went to turn my car on, it was showing that it was out of gas completely, 2 walbro fuel pumps do they have an automatic cut off after a wreck or something? What would cause this, I'm just curious. Thanks.

In general OEM fuel system has a cutoff after detecting a certain severity of a crash.
But are you meaning your fuel gauge, I'm confused.?

I'd be a lil more impatient and nicer to the people who are trying to help you.

Could be a couple things. I would see if something behind the dash got knocked out or broke from the impact. I would look at your fuel pump assembly and see if the floater is even attached. I don't know a ton about cars but this is just common sense to me..

Lol, be a little more impatient? You mean patient?.. I wasn't being a dick I was just asking a question, I thought I described it fairly decent.. no gas/fuel on the gas gauge..

Where did the collision happen?

To start off I don't think there is anything that would disable the fuel level sensor. It is on the same harness as the pump but it utilizes different wires so it's possible the wires got clipped but highly unlikely. I would tell the shop, they may need to pull your rear seats to inspect the fuel pump assembly and verify there's fuel in the tank and not some leak also.

front end, might be a fuse or something. Hit pretty hard, knocked the battery cables off the battery in the process of being fixed now.

How you worded your question was not clear dude, hence why I asked and another backed me up for more info... you describe your fuel gauge, but ask about your fuel pumps not working by asking about a fuel cut....... those are not necessarily the same thing.

Okay... maybe I should have said the fuel pumps are not working, is there an automatic cut off, or possibly a fuse...
