My evo 7 has anti-lag and launch control, which was already installed when i bought the car, when i press down on auto/manual button a green light appears on dash, if i hold down on it for about eight seconds it begins to flash, tap it once more and it will flash every 4 seconds, hold down on it again for 8 seconds and it goes off, i understand this has to do with anti lag, but whats difference between (1) light staying on continuously, (2) light staying on and momentarily flashing off every four seconds and (3) light being off and momentarily flashing on every four seconds? there seems to be three settings and i'd like to know the difference between each one, sorry if i havent explained this properly but hopefully someone can understand what i am talking about and explain it thanks.....

 

The auto/manual button? By chance do you have the evo 7 GTA with auto trans?

 

no its a evo 7 GSR with manual transmission, imported from Japan, the auto/manual button that i refer to is a small switch located a couple of centimeters below gear stick.

 

I'm not familiar with this button. What does the light look like?

The only thing that springs to mind is an intercooler spray button.

 

on 03-04 USDM cars that auto/manual button is for the IC Sprayer as stated above

 

it might have been ecuflashed with a tephra mods rom with switchable maps, the ics button allows you to switch between maps , the anti lag is usually on the altrernative map , flashing ics light tells you its on alt map

 

Does the intercooler spray button behave like this on USDM evos? (No IC spray on mine).

Is it possible that with a reflash the intercooler spray button has been changed to control his anti lag?

 

its possible too but ive yet to see one with an aftermarket ecu done that way . they usually put a separate toggle switch on them
