1100 for labor is steep. West Werks or English Racing are the only two places in WA I would go. Got my clutch (Act HD-SS) and a resurfaced flywheel installed at English for around $1400 total with parts, tax & labor, and it was done in one day!

We would be around $1300 for the new comp HD clutch installed with new transmission fluid and surface on flywheel.

We have flywheels and clutchs in stock ready to go. As others have said we can have it all done in one day.

Sorry for the late reply.

I after seeing the replies that 1100 for labor was steep, I kept looking around. I found a place called Stage Auto out of Kirkland. They have some guys there that have worked on Evo's in the past and they came at recommendation. They charge 70$ an hour, so labor is only going to be about 700. I decided to go with the after market clutch as it was cheaper, and everyone says they work better. (ACT iirc). Their mechanic want's to do some additional work that I would like you guys to weigh in on, but I'll make that a separate post.

Thanks for the info on the options and pricing. I'll be sure to give these other shops a try if I'm not happy with Stage.

adamturbo, it did turn out to be the clutch.

Stage did a great job with the car, although I will say that they had the car for two and a half days before they got it done (10 hour quote). It was no big deal for me because I have a backup vehicle.

During the second day that they had the vehicle they kept saying that they were waiting on the flywheel to get back from the machine shop which apparently took allll day (yeah...) I've come to find that's pretty much the canned response you're going to get from an autoshop when they screwed up and are taking longer than the quoted time. Blame it on parts shop, the machine shop, the weather or anything but the mechanics... right lol.

In the end, I'd recommend Stage to any Seattelites so long as you don't need your vehicle right away. Tam was super nice and kept me informed on the progress of the job and they did do a very professional job with the replacement. In the end that's all that mattered to me so I'm quite happy with the outcome.
