Hello guys,

I just wanted to get your opinion on this. I know this is really personal, but I would like to hear the opinion of people who know evos.

I own a WW 2006 MR with the following mods:

-Stock engine 48K miles(Owned since it had 10K)
-TRE Stage 3 transmission
-ETS IC with Pipes
-ACT 6 puck clutch with ACT Flywheel
-Kosei 17 inch wheels
-GSC S2 cams
-Perrin TBE
-HKS Intake

The car dynoed 390 whp on a dyno jet.

I have been given the opportunity to trade it for a Silver 2003 GSR with 30K and the following mods:

-2.3 Stroker engine with less than 5K miles on it(Don't know what brand).
-AMS intake
-AMS GT30 BB Kit
-AMS Intercooler
-Race Transmission done by a local shop with great reputation and results
-Exedy Twin HD clutch(don't know if its carbon or ceramic)
-Coil over suspension(Can be adjusted by remote, but it doesn't work don't know why)
-AMS Downpipe
-Greddy Exhaust
-18inch SSR wheels
-Carbon Lip
-JDM bumper
-Carbon fiber hood scoop
-Harness bar
-Brand new never installed Alky kit
-AEM EMS
-***Spare stroker(only needs rods)***

The car did 550whp on 93 pump and was tuned by a great tuner and personal friend. The car was built by 2 local reputable shops and was take care of by a good friend of mine. I took the car for a test drive and it felt awesome, but the car felt way older than mine... I mean my evo is in much better condition interior and exterior wise even though it has more millage...

I know on paper is a no brainer, but when I went to take a look at the car I was hoping to fall in love and I didn't. However, I was thinking that it was easier for this car to become my "dream evo" because it's like 80% built from where I want it to be... I could easily go and wrap it in matte black or white, wrap the interiors in carbon fiber, add 2 bride bucket seats and a pair of takata harness with a race steering wheel and I would probably have the perfect car instead of having to add all those performance mods...

Sorry for the long post, but I need to hear the opinion of people who know these cars... Any help/opinion is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Keep your car. If you want a monster, build what you have.

This. You have a car with much more market value that's newer, more reliable, etc. However, I wish someone would trade me a 400whp IX for my Built VIII

If you didn't fall in love with it, you may end up regretting your decision.

Dude I'd keep the 9...I wish every day I had the better interior of the 9 MR. And you already put some money into your car. Get injectors/fuel pump (if you don't already have them) and FP-Red or BBK-Full.

+1 on paper it might look good but if doesnt do it for you pass on it, there is always another one. i waited 11 months to get my 9rs and i couldnt be happier and now im building it to set the stock turbo record. I agree keep yours and build it, you have already put a lot of money into it as well. good luck which ever way you decide

keep yours. if u didnt fall in love with the other evo at first sight... then it'll be hard to get it to happen when u own it. might actually regret it, ur 9 is worth more.

Thanks a lot for your opinions! They really helped me... I was kind of unsure because I started to only think about the $$$ invested in the other evo. Thanks again

Stick with the 9, dynamically there's not much between them stock for stock, but on a daily basis there is a noticeable difference in livability.
