Heh, I've driven 22 winters with a metal shift knob. Still don't understand what the problem is, if the knob is not used as a hand rest. I mean, it takes a fraction of a second to shift and it's not like the hand can really feel the cold during that period. Similarly, if it's cold enough for the knob to be frosted over, why aren't you guys wearing gloves to begin with? None of this make a whole lot of sense.

This why I can't get rid of my stock 5 speed leather knob.

I use to have a black metal shift knob on my old WS6 and it would be freezing in the winter. Summer time out in the direct sun, it would burn my my hand. It looked cool though!

I work at a liquor store and the crown royal bags really come in handy. I say a nice half pint size one should do the trick

If you've got kids, or know people with kids, get a baby sock on it I just wear gloves with grips on them. Damn cold here in the winter!

It's just cold and it can be inconvenient at times. I was just wondering what sort of creative solutions people have come up with in the past. I guess it's a matter of preference. I don't really wear gloves in the wintertime so it's a hassle for me to carry them around and I'm prone to losing them. I'm getting a leather knob for the winter as my solution

I used to put a cute sock over mine! Since then, i have had a hand made wood shift knob made. It is never hot, nor cold. Always good temperature!

Get one of these. $20 shipped and the same material AMS uses for their shift knob. I swapped my metal knob with this for the winter and the difference is noticeable.
