Turbo Timer HELP!

hey guys im having a pretty annoying issue with my car. i was just wondering if anyone has ran into the same issue or what has been done to fix it?

i just installed a brand new hks type 0 turbo timer in my car. the install went great and everything is working as should, and thats kinda my problem.

my main concern and issue is that when the timer times out it automaticly unlocks my doors. id like to be able to lock my doors nd walk away withought having them unlock again while im gone.

i have done some research on this and i have founf many people to have the same issue but i havent found a fix for it yet. im driving an 06 evo ix se. idk if it matters vs everything else but if anyone has had this problem or knows a fix to this id like to kno about it thanks much ,p

I've used the Greddy Full Auto with no issues like that. Did you pick that one or did it come with the car? My advice...sell it for a Greddy

hey guys thanks for the input.

I chose the HKS type 0 because i likes the bare simplicity of the unit. the red display goes very well with the interior as well. im very happy with the unit and the way it performs

I also purchased the evo ix HKS wiring harness for the kit so the instalation was straight forward and simple so i know the install is correct. i would just like to figure out a way so i cat get out and lock my doors while the unit is timing out and then have them stay locked when the car shuts down.

I am the second owner of the vehicle and it was kept very clean. the vehicle does have an alarm on it because if the doors are remotely locked it arms and goes off with little vibration its very sensative. i did not install the alarm and i have no idea what system it is or even how to find out i havent torn into the car to find out i dont even kno where to look to find this information out. but that might be helpfull. if ya guys have any ideas let me kno thanks again..help me figure this out!

I have the same turbo timer, no aftermarket alarm, and it works fine. it's probably wired into the alarm programming independent of the turbo timer. I think it's a safety feature built in that if the engine shuts off, the doors unlock.

I don't know any way around it yet. let me know if you find a way to override the alarm

I have the exact same turbo timer and it DOES unlock when it counts down to ZERO. But with my aftermarker alarm, if i ARM the car, even when it counts down to ZERO the door remains LOCKED. You should reprogram you alarm functions where its doesn't automatic lock and unlock. Hope that helps...

id like to try and figure out how to reprogram my alarm but like i said i have no idea what alarm is ion the vehicle or even where its located? guess ill have to start following the wiring and see what i can find i might be able to reprogram it. i also read somewhere that the alarm will probably be wired to an IGN wire and if i just move that to my ACC position my alarm will think my car is off so i can arm the system. idk if it might work but i got some work to do this weekend.

keep the input coming and ill let ya kno if i figure anything out thanks..

hey all just an update i solved my problem. i tore into my car to find out where the alarm system was hidden and traced the wires back to the ignition harness. i then pulled wires at the harness one by one untill i found the one that triggered my doors when the key is in the ACC and OFF positions and i simply just unplugged that wire. now when my timer times out my doors stay locked and the alarm stays armed everything works as should except my doors do not lock and unlock when the key is turned from the off and acc positions and this is absolutely not a bother to me so im happy now thanks for the help im sure this issue will come up again and i guess the most simple way is to do the work yourself and go the same rout one by one ,p
