It should throw a red flag when you see three geico commercials for any one other provider.

I pay $88 a month for full coverage witih AAA. I have never had issues. I got vandalized where someone keyed a large portion of the right side of the car a while back. NO questions they took care of me, regardless of my "modifications" I was also rear ended by a stupid lady on her cell phone not paying attention to me stopped at a red light. AAA handled everything and got my rear bumper taken care of,again they didnt care about my "modifications". Idk, I guess it might also help that I am 34 and my record is clean since the past 12 years. I have had other insurance companies in the past and AAA has been the best. Screw Geico.

You guys really should stop watching t.v using these so called known insurance companies that will still **** you on the insurance reguardless especially since the car is too much to repair because of the hype and its an old car.

If it was a cheap car then sure they probably wont mind. But you figure its a rally car looking to be modded. You guys should do your own research use another company instead of one thats so uhhh commercialized and go with a low-key insruance company youll save more in the long-run with the bull****.

yeah geico sucks... my friends uncle got dropped...
mind you he's 48 years old... never had a ticket... never had and accident...
their reason was that his premium is decreasing too much... and that they won't cover him because they are not able to raise his premium because he's record is "TOO CLEAN"...

I don't know what you guys are talking about.....I have had geico for 11 years and have tried to find a better rate to no avail. Maybe rates are different in Hawaii, but there rates cannot be touched! Not even close my closest was another 100 for six months!

I've also had 2 cars stollen whithin 6 months. And a rear end from a corrola....yet again no problems.....

I have Geico, with my evo, and haven't had any problems but I also have never had a claim with my evo. I can't find anyone anywhere close to their rate, progressive wants double. Living in Massachusetts makes it hard since most "cheap" companies don't come here.

thats my issue with rhode island, not everyone under writes there, and geico was one of the few. i dont even know if state farm or progressive do.

and yes geico is cheaper, and now im finding out why.

The GF has Geico (not forlong hopefully). She just got a Forester XT and the first thing they asked her if there was any aftermarket equipment on it. Idiots

I will never leave state farm. As long as I have recipts for any and all aftermarket parts they will cover them no questions asked

I think geico is similar to what progressive is, offering lower rates for the more 'risky' drivers but not necessarily lower rates for just everybody. If I have had 2 cars stolen within a year, then Im sure Geico would give me better rates as compared to AAA, State Farm, etc. Geico imo is in the same group of insurance companies like Progressive where they cater a lot to the higher risk group.

Back when my record wasnt so clean AAA wouldnt even insure me. Progressive gave me a better rate than others. As I got older and my record got cleaned up I found that AAA was now willing to insure me and at a much better price than Progressive, go figure. I now have a clean record and geico and progressive were quite a bit more. Geico was $180 month with same coverage as what AAA is giving me for $88 month. Honestly imo the only insurance company better than what AAA offers you is USAA.
my .02, take it fwiw

strange... i've had geico on and off throughout my years of owning my evo. never once got that type of a letter from them. could it be they just dont want to insure YOU???? i mean for god sakes the car comes stock with a big spoiler, even if you had mods to the car, what does it matter "? do you live in california or something?

sounds to me like you might be able to argue this out in court, that is if you wanted to take it to that level. sounds very fish to me dude...
