Shift Knob?
Shift Knob?
Hey guys, couriosity question, all my evos I've always just put a mr knob on there because i don't really like the cloth one, but what are some aftermarket options, something kinnda heavy?
I've always loved the skunk2 ones for the hondas, does someone make something sort of like that?

TWM's "high caliber" series shift knobs weigh in at 600 grams (1.32 lbs) as compared to a 400 gram (0.88 lb) skunk2 knob. Yes, TWM makes a "type r" knob that's shaped almost identical to the skunk2 one. Here's a comparison of all of them:
stock evo 8 - 111g or 3.91oz or 0.24lb ( I know you said MR, but I don't know the exact weight of that particular one)

This is more of a matter of taste I think, since some people tend to have their own preferences. I have heard some things about counterweight, but no one has ever really given me enough data to decide otherwise.
+1 to the WORKS grab. That's what I run.

Blox 490LE is one of my favorites. Actually it's the one that I ended using.

The other one I would recommend is the AMS!

I've been seeing shift knob threads popping up more & more...I am still rocking my beat-up 6 spd trans & used the OEM shift knob forever. I have been using the Forture Auto Ti shift knob for a while now & its alright, very light. I remember back in the day I have a Greddy counter weight shift knob in my GSX with a B&M short shifter & stock trans. I really liked the way that car shifted. Once I do my 5 spd swap, I'll see how the Ti shift knob feelsb but I may look into a heavier "weighted" TWM shift knob...
