Crank warp??
Crank warp??
First off merry Christmas to everyone. Okay guys I've put two input hafts in my car and the third one is making noise again and idk wtf the issue is. The car was wrecked on front driver side when I bought it had a broken wheel but I fixed. Anyways I'm beginning to think the case is warped or something is dented from the wreck that can't be seen from bare eye. I think I am just gonna have shep build me a 5 speed and see if they will take this in on a core. Is there any way that the crank is having issue causing this? It made good average power for its setup and runs strong thorough out the band. I put a brand new act clutch in it and run mitsu diaqueen in it. And haven't launched car since new bearing. Everything internal looked great when apart.
Ur talking about the crank being warped in the engine? Ur engine would be toast. I'm assuming ur replacing the same shaft everytime? What did u replace from the wreck? Did you check all the suspension components for bending, clearance, etc? R u using quality replacement parts?
I haven't replaced the input shaft. Just the input shaft bearing. Nothing else is worn or seems to be out of place. My tranny guy agreed on this as well. I have put nothing but quality parts on the car. From the wreck I put on a new front left wheel, wheel stud, radiator, ac condenser, a new axle on driver side because the old boot was cut. All parts are brand new. Had it aligned and that shop didn't find any problems with alignment. I thought the crank issue was highly unlikely but I am stumped as to why it's failing. It's a 6 speed with 360awhp. I know 6 speeds are weak but I didn't figure it would give out to that power. I haven't checked every single suspension part but neither the tranny guy not the alignment shop noticed anything out of order.
