keyless entry remote stolen, help
So 2 days after Xmas my car gets broken into and my stereo stolen
Well my lock/unlock remote broke off my keys just a few days before so I had it in there at the time and well they also stole that.
Is there a way to get it so that the old one no longer works? Last thing I need is for them to steal anything else so easily.
I searched the forums for awhile but couldn't find anything about it except how to program a new remote to the car. So not sure if the new remote is matching with the cars code to unlock/lock or the other way around.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

usually when you program remots you need the ones you want to work with in X feet of the car. If you program a new one into the system it will delete the one that is not close by or being programed into the system. Basically get a new one and program the old one and the new one to the car, it should delete the other one since you are not going through the process with it. hope it helps. Also I have seen that some systems only allow 2 remotes.
