Shop/Personal Car - Should I sell???
Up to you Mikey, and I understand how frustrating a descision it is for you... Knowing all that I know about the car and having worked on it through out its lifespan, it would definitely be heart breaking to see it change hands, however is is just a car... I do agree with previously mentioned details about owning a GTR, you need to fully understand what you are getting yourself into maintenance wise... Also take into consideration the insurance rates. It is a tough descision anyway you look at it... sell it as is and loose your *** on all the one off parts, or part it out and and be disgusted with having to tear apart the beast...

I would say part it out to try to get your money's worth. If you sell it AS-IS you are not going to get what you want for it and will not be happy. If you do return her to stock, you could always keep her and start a new project?
If you do decide to part her out. How much would you want for that complete long block?

If it's about the $$$ maybe downgrade the car abit. Sell off some of the expensive high performance parts and replace with cheaper high performance parts :P maybe drop it to 400-450 whp. If you do that atleast you will have both the Evo and GTR sitting outside the shop

Instead of selling the car Mikey, you should part out all "performance" parts and go back to a simple evo and get a gtr. That way you dont lose your car and you get a new toy. YOu'd get thousands of thousands in sales for your performance parts easily. A lot of people need those parts. Youd miss the car if its all gone
I've been going throught the exact same thing Mikey has. Even though I'm pretty sure he loves his Evo alot, it might just not be the same if he were to put the car back to stock. If he feels the same way I do, the mods are what really what made the car what it is. Without those mods it just another car. The way I look at it, if you're going to put it back to stock you might as well sell it.
Keep it. Look at the threads who is going to keep evo forever. Im not a evo fanboy but anyone i know who has driven, rode in my evo say this is one to keep. This is coming from car people across the board. Muscle car, truck, rats, gassers, soccermoms .... Keep this car. I still look at it in the driveway and smile. My wife has a A4 i love the luxury and ride 90+ cruising is quiet and smooth my but is warm from power heated seats. Ive been kicking around the idea of trading for a leftover S4. When i come back from daydreaming I always reason that the evo will still be fun in 20yrs and the audi will have come and gone many times over. So paying this off and keeping it. Will buy audi at some point. Good luck with your decsion its a tuff one.

I have thought about parting it out but being worth my time and destorying what makes my car what it is, just makes me sick to my stomach. I would rather someone have this unique car and continue to use it for what it was built for.
We have another Evo Shop car that is almost identical to my setup but with a LR2.1 and HTA3794. Having two shop Evos isn't really a must, when we could get a R35. Then we would have an EVO, STI, and R35.
I would sell my car as is for 34k to the right buyer... Not a 17yr old kid that will kill himself.
There has been a lot of time and money put into this car. Freddie is 100% right. It would be sad to see it go with all the hard work that has been put into it

Mikey
I couldn't disagree more.
However, in the end you are going to have to make the choice. You will probably miss the car if you sell it, but if you get a new project to work on... probably not too much. For a lot of people the path of modification and chasing that "next step" is the biggest part of the joy. Nobody that mods a car to the point of your MR is content to just sit back and drive it. You either find a new vision for the car or you move on to another project. The GT-R is a great platform and you could have a lot of fun modding it, and lots of other shops are experiencing the benefits of supporting that platform.
If you don't have a new vision on what you want to do with the Evo, and its basically done, then I would sell it off and go to the GT-R... not because I think its an inherently better platform, but because you will probably enjoy the road to turning it into the kind of beast your Evo is.
