3 port ECU based control?

I searched. Lots of threads show up for these keywords and none of them are helpful.

With reference to: https://www.grimmspeed.com/install_g...ne_version.pdf

Stock setup is fairly obviously setup to bleed the pressure unless actuated. According to this setup manual, the 3 port is either connecting ports 3 and 2 together or ports 3 and 1 together. The diagram shows port 3 connected to the pressure source, port 2 connected to the WGA and port 1 connected to wherever you want to vent compressed air. Which is confusing as hell to me because you are unnecessarily making boost that is just bleeding back into the intake (not to mention another line that can blow off). Why would they not design and have it installed to connect the WGA to port 3 and have port 2 go to the compressor outlet nipple and port 1 go to atmosphere. I believe this is how the AEM TruBoost install is and I fail to see why you would purposely setup the compressor to bleed when it does not gain anything.

The air is such a minimal amount it makes no difference. The numbers on the ports make no difference and the Truboost hooks up the exact same way. In the Aem instructions it shows a muffler over the vta port instead of it routing back to the intake.
